» Further information about the manufacturer Artech you will find in the following.
Who is ARTech
ARTech Recyclingtechnik GmbH from Iserlohn, Germany, was a renowned manufacturer of rotary shears and granulators. In 2009, the company had to file for insolvency. As a result, Kiel-based von der Mehden GmbH took over ARTech's design documents and stock. The von der Mehden GmbH has specialized in the field of maintenance of shredding plants.

ARTech granulators - simply economical shredding
The granulator is a single-rotor shredding machine, on whose rotor there is a certain number of knife blocks, which shred the material in question by rotating on one or two counter-knife bars (stators). The material is shredded in circulation until it is small enough to pass through a sieve fitted under the rotor. The target grain size of the output material can thus be determined via the diameter of the screen perforation.
ARTech granulators stand for high-tech machines that can secure the decisive competitive advantage: through high quality and reliability as well as low operating costs.
Areas of application
The typical field of application for ARTech granulators is the size reduction of the output material to particle sizes between approx. 10 and 30 mm. Each comminution puts the stator knives in particular to the test. These have to be changed frequently in comparable granulators. The ARTech innovation from the field: The adjustment range of the knives is 30 instead of only 5 millimetres! This lowers operating costs considerably, as downtimes are greatly reduced - without compromising output quality and reliability.
The portfolio includes six models ranging from the ARTech SG 60/100 with 110 kW output to the ARTech SG 100/200 with 300 kW.
The advantages of an ARTech granulator
- Continuously high throughput
- Consistent output quality
- Low maintenance
- Reduction of downtimes
- Reduction of personnel costs for service
- Contaminant protection
- First-class technology
ARTech Rotary shears that can really get to grips with things
In the first step of the recycling process, rotary shears provide the pre-shredding of the input material. From tyres to electrical scrap to document shredding, these powerful machines with outputs from 2x22 kW to 2x160 kW pack a variety of recyclable materials. In-house value creation.
The quick-change slitter shaft system developed and patented by ARTech enables two completely clamped slitter shafts (consisting of shafts, cutting knives, bearing housings, bearings, seals and bushings) to be inserted into or removed from the cutting unit. This is done by simply loosening the screw connections of the coupling and the front-mounted bearing plates. This allows the slitter shafts to be easily lifted out of the cutterbar and replaced after removing the bearing plates. This neither destabilises the cutter nor involves the gearbox, which results in an enormous time and safety advantage.
ARTech rotary shears take pre-shredding to a new level. They are robust, reliable and efficient. And also come with the best guarantees and references. The deep product range with a variety of options, performance and cutter dimensions make the decision easy.
The portfolio includes nine models ranging from the RS 75 with 2 x 22 kW power to the RS 165 with 2 x 250 kW.
Advantages of the ARTech rotary shear
- High throughput capacity due to optimum machine design
- Even the most difficult materials can be processed thanks to maximum torques
- The solid construction and an interference detection system rule out shaft breakage. This offers excellent machine protection
- The shaft sets are made of high-quality materials
- The gearboxes are designed with a high power reserve.
- The gearboxes are protected against overload by a rubber buffer bearing on both sides
- Quick-change cutterhead system
- Robust construction
- High availability
