The cutting geometry and the material used for constructing have a considerable effect on the resistance and service life.

In the X-variation, the counter knife is made of tool steel, which is our standard variant in most applications. It is identified by a medium hardness.

This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.

Spare parts of this version are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains persistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its life span.

Hardfacing or welding on this option should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be significantly weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.

Fastening in the machine:

The counter knife is sold as a whole set, consisting of 3 parts.

This spare part is fitting for knives and also cutters with the length and width of 40mm. With regard to the various range of models, other configuration options can be realised.

When installing the counter knife, please assure that it is only fitted to knife holders or knife crossbars with an undamaged contact surface in order to prevent breakage.
