Cutting performance and durability:

The wear behaviour and thus also the service life can be impacted by the material and the cutting geometry. This means that the performance can be well customised to the application scenario.

Knives in this W-option are 5% softer in comparison to the X-version and have a lower susceptibility to impurities. The product is made out of alloyed tool steel, which makes it perfect for demanding break down applications. However this variation has a shorter longevity.

In this variant, the cutting tools are hardened from the edge layer to the core. This means that the counter knife wears steadily over its lifetime.

We emphasise that this variant should not be armoured or welded on. This has a negative effect on the material structure of the counter knife, which can subsequently lead to breakage and machine damage.

Fastening in the machine:

This counter knife can be used for knives and cutters with a length and width of 40mm. Due to the wide range of models, other configuration options are possible.

When attaching, please also ensure that the support of the knives is in an intact condition, as otherwise breakage may occur.
