The Y-variant of this product is made of alloyed tool steel. Compared to the X-option, it is approx. 5 % harder and thus offers longer service life. At the same time, however, the susceptibility to impurities increases, which can lead to fractures more quickly.
Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the tool life of the counter knife.
However, this version must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively influences the structure of the spare parts. Consequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.
Fastening in the machine:
The counter knife is mounted left on the cutting device. The other parts of the set can be found under the accessories.
This component fits knives and cutting crowns with a length and width of 40mm. Due to the broad range of recycling machines, further configuration variations may be available.
When installing the counter knife, please assure that it is only fixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with an undamaged contact surface, as otherwise breakage may occur.
