Through the use of different materials and the variance in the cutting geometry, the spare part can be configured to the operational scenario in terms of throughput and service life.

The W-variant is fabricated from alloy tool steel. Against the X-version, it has a shorter tool life due to the 5 % lower hardness. However it is also less fragile in parallel. Knives of the W-variant are ideal for applications where the contact surface is no longer intact or there are impurities in the input material.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures uniform wear over the lifetime of the counter knife.

Hardfacing or welding on this option should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be severely weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.

Fastening in the machine:

The counter knife is mounted centered on the cutting device. The other parts of the set can be found under the accessories.

The component is suitable for knives and also cutters with the length and width of 40mm. With regard to the diverse range of models, other configuration options can be realised.

It is imperative that the counter knife is only affixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with flat supports, as otherwise the attachment may cause breakage.
