The W9-version wears more rapidly than the X-variation, but also has increased toughness and is insensitive to impurities. However, the hardness of the W9-option is lower than that of the X-variant.

Spare parts of this variant are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains the same from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is even in relation to its tool life.

Hardfacing or welding on this version should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be seriously weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.
