Through the use of different materials and varying the cutting shape, the cutting tool can be adjusted to the break down application in terms of throughput and lifetime.

In the X-variation, the cutter is made of tool steel, which is our standard version in most applications. It is characterised by a medium hardness.

Here you are offered a balanced relationship between resistance to wear and toughness simultaneously.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a consistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the service life of the cutter.

We underline that this variant should not be armoured or welded on. This has a negative effect on the material structure of the cutter, which can subsequently lead to breakage and machine damage.

Fastening in the machine:

To allow the cutter to be installed, it has a drilling for M12 threads.

When installing the cutter, please assure that it is only fixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with a flat contact surface, as otherwise breakage may occur.
