The performance of this item depends chiefly on the version of the material and shape.

This alloyed tool steel is 5 % softer than the X-variation and is therefore less sensitive to fractures. This makes this W-variant ideal for utilizations where impurities are present in the input. In return, however, this option has a shorter longevity.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a uniform hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the service life of the knife.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is important not to armour or weld on this type, as it will seriously weaken the structure.
