Through the use of different materials and the variance in the cutting geometry, the item can be configured to the break down application in terms of throughput and lifespan.

Knifes in this W-variation are 5% softer in comparison to the X-option and have a lower susceptibility to impurities. This component is manufactured out of alloyed tool steel, which makes it ideal for demanding areas of applications. However this version has a shorter tool life.

Cutting tools of this variant are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains the same from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its life span.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is important not to armour or weld on this type, as it will seriously weaken the structure.
