Through the use of different materials and the variance in the cutting shape, the item can be adjusted to the application area in terms of throughput and lifetime.

In the X-option, the knife is made of tool steel, which is our standard version in most break down applications. It is characterised by a medium hardness.

This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.

Items of this variant are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains the same from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its tool life.

However, this variant must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively impacts the structure of the spare parts. Subsequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.
