Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the service life of the rotor knife.

It is imperative to avoid the welding on or hardfacing of items of this option, as the structure will otherwise be fundamentally impaired. Therefore, breakage and machine damage may occur.
