Through the use of particular materials and varying the cutting shape, the product can be customised to the operational scenario in terms of throughput and lifetime.

The X-option of this cutting tool is made of tool steel. The variant has a medium hardness and lays between the W- and Y-variants.

Here you are offered a good compromise between resistance to wear and toughness.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a consistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures persistent wear over the tool life of the rotor knife.

However, this version must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively influences the structure of the products. Consequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.

The dimensions of this component are 250mm in length, 90mm in width and 22mm in height.

Its cutting edge is inclined at 50°.
