Through the use of particular materials and the variance in the cutting geometry, the component can be matched to the application area in terms of throughput and lifespan.

The Y-variant of this product is made of alloyed tool steel. In comparison to the X-option, it is approx. 5 % harder and thus offers longer durability. At the same time, nonetheless, the susceptibility to impurities increases, which can lead to fractures more rapidly.

In this version, the items are hardened from the edge layer to the core. This means that the rotor knife wears evenly over its lifetime.

However, this variant must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively influences the structure of the spare parts. Consequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.
