This X-option rotor knife is made of tool steel and corresponds to the standard variant in most application scenarios. Consequently, it has a medium hardness.

This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the lifetime of the rotor knife.

It is imperative to avoid the welding on or hardfacing of cutting tools of this version, as the structure will otherwise be severely weakened. Therefore, breakage and machine damage may occur.

The inclination of the cutting edge is 45°.
