The Y-variation of this product is made of alloyed tool steel. In comparison to the X-variant, it is approx. 5 % harder and thus offers longer operating time. At the same time, however, the susceptibility to impurities increases, which can lead to fractures more quickly.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the tool life of the rotor knife.

Hardfacing or welding on this version should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be seriously weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.

Its cutting edge is inclined at 45°.
