This X-version rotor knife is made of tool steel and corresponds to the standard option in most break down applications. Therefore, it has a medium hardness.

Here you are offered a beneficial compromise between resistance to wear and toughness.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a consistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures uniform wear over the tool life of the rotor knife.

However, this variant must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively impacts the structure of the cutting tools. Consequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.
