In the X-variation, the rotor knife is made of tool steel, which is our standard variant in most applications. It is defined by a medium hardness.

This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.

Cutting tools of this option are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains persistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is even in relation to its tool life.

It is imperative to avoid the welding on or hardfacing of products of this version, as the structure will otherwise be fundamentally impaired. Therefore, breakage and machine damage may occur.
