This component presented is made of tool steel in the X-variant, which is our standard variation for most application scenarios. The hardness of this rotor knife is in the medium range.

Here you are offered a good compromise between insensitivity to wear and toughness.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a uniform hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures persistent wear over the service life of the rotor knife.

However, this version must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively impacts the structure of the products. Subsequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.

Fastening in the machine:

When fitting the rotor knife, please ensure that it is only applied to knife holders or knife crossbars with a flat contact surface in order to prevent breakage.

Its cutting edge is inclined at 42°.
