The wear behaviour and thus also the knife life can be impacted by the material and the cutting geometry. This means that the performance can be well configured to the application.

This item presented is made of tool steel in the X-option, which is our standard variation for most application areas. The hardness of this rotor knife is in the medium range.

Here you are offered a good compromise between insensitivity to wear and toughness.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the service life of the rotor knife.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is crucial not to armour or weld on this type, as it will acutely weaken the structure.

Fastening in the machine:

When fitting the rotor knife, please ensure that it is only fixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with a flat contact surface, as otherwise breakage may occur.
