In the X-variant, the rotor knife is made of tool steel, which is our standard option in most applications. It is identified by a medium hardness.

This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.

Components of this variation are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains persistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its life span.

However, this version must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively impacts the structure of the products. Subsequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.

When fitting the rotor knife, please assure that it is only fitted to knife holders or knife crossbars with an undamaged contact surface in order to prevent breakage.
