Compatibility with machines:

This rotor knife can be installed in the cutting mills of the Hosokawa Alpine AG brand.

Cutting performance and durability:

The wear and tear behaviour and thus also the lifespan can be influenced by the material and the cutting geometry. This means that the efficiency can be well configured to the application scenario.

In the Y-variant, this item is made of alloyed tool steel. The rotor knife in this version is approx. 5% harder than the X-option, which results in a longer longevity. However, the texture is also more brittle. Due to that it can be more fragile if there is a high level of impurities.

Cutting tools of this variation are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains consistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is even in relation to its tool life.

However, this option must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively impacts the structure of the cutting tools. Subsequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.

Fastening in the machine:

The rotor knife is mounted right on the cutting device. The other parts of this set can be found under the accessories.

When attaching the rotor knife, please ensure that it is only fitted to knife holders or knife crossbars with a flat contact surface in order to prevent breakage.
