The X-variant of this component is made of tool steel. This option has a medium hardness and lays between the W- and Y-options.

Here you are offered a good compromise between resistance to wear and toughness.

Cutting tools of this variation are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains consistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its tool life.

However, this version must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively impacts the structure of the products. Subsequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.

Fastening in the machine:

When attaching, please also assure that the support of the knives is in an undamaged condition, as otherwise breakage may occur.
