The cutting shape and the material used for constructing have a significant influence on the insensitivity and durability.

Due to the alloyed tool steel of the Y-variant, it is approx. 5 % harder than the X-version. This means that a longer knife life can be secured. In comparison, however, the stator knife is more susceptible to impurities, which can lead to fractures more quickly.

Spare parts of this option are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains the same from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is even in relation to its life span.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is crucial not to armour or weld on this type, as it will severely weaken the structure.

Fastening in the machine:

When installing the stator knife, please assure that it is only fixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with an intact contact surface, as otherwise breakage may occur.
