Cutting performance and durability:

The wear behaviour and thus also the lifetime of the product can be impacted by the material and the cutting geometry. This means that the performance can be well customised to the application scenario.

In the Y-variant, this spare part is made of alloyed tool steel. The stator knife in this variation is approx. 5% harder than the X-version, which results in a longer durability. Nonetheless, the texture is also more brittle. Due to that it can be more fragile if there is a high level of impurities.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the tool life of the stator knife.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is important not to armour or weld on this type, as it will fundamentally weaken the structure.
