Who is HSM GmbH + Co. KG?

In 1971 Hermann Schwelling founded the partnership Hermann Schwelling Maschinenbau, known as HSM, in Salem. The founder started his company with the idea of reducing the volume of recyclable materials. He developed baling presses to return paper, cardboard, foil, PET and many other materials to the recycling cycle as bales of recyclable material. They reduce the volume of recyclable materials by up to 95 percent. From the first baling press in 1972 with a pressing force of six tonnes, an extensive product range of baling presses with a pressing force of up to 150 tonnes and state-of-the-art technology has developed. HSM also develops shredders for paper and data media such as CDs, credit cards and hard drives and covers the complete cycle of shredding and pressing.

Due to the commitment of the employees HSM has become a market-leading company for products and services in environmental and office technology. Nearly 900 employees and more than 100 service and sales points around the world are integrated into the HSM network and serve thousands of customers worldwide.

Sustainable action has been part of HSM's self-image for decades. It begins with energy-efficient production facilities and methods, continues with the production of durable products, the focus on very good working conditions and the training and further education of employees, and culminates in diverse support for social and ecological projects.

In production, HSM relies on renewable energies in the form of geothermal energy, heat recovery from the production facilities and photovoltaic systems. Recyclable materials are returned to the production process without any loss of quality. In processing, the company pays attention to environmentally compatible and recyclable materials. Modern production facilities, the constant optimisation of the production flow and short transport routes permanently contribute to the goal of sustainable production.

HSM is committed to preserving valuable materials. The processing of high-quality materials guarantees long-lasting products with very low susceptibility to faults. In the event of malfunctions, up to 85% of them can be remedied by state-of-the-art technology and in the shortest possible time over the phone. Shredder-press combinations

COMPRESSING
HSM baling presses reduce the volume of waste mountains by up to 95 percent! This saves valuable space that bulky packaging materials usually take up on site. With unmixed bales, you create a secondary raw material that can be reintroduced into the recycling cycle.

Vertical balers
The HSM V-Press series of vertical balers are ideal for industrial, manufacturing and retail applications due to their dimensions, cost and performance features. With these compact balers, the volume of packaging material can be reduced by up to 95 percent directly on site. The HSM product range of vertical balers starts with the small manual film press HSM V-Press 60 and extends to the top model HSM V-Press 1160.

HSM V-Press 60
The manoeuvrable, mobile baler compresses film and light packaging material where the material accumulates. Used packaging material is immediately fed into the HSM V-Press 60 when it is unpacked and is not transported to an intermediate storage facility.

HSM V-Press 503 eco

Horizontal baling presses

The HSM horizontal baling presses are suitable for industry, the processing trade and waste disposal companies. In addition to paper, cardboard and films, they are often used for baling highly expanding materials such as foams, polystyrene, hollow bodies, metal buckets, barrels, car tyres and many more. The HL series balers are characterised by a low overall height and a large filling opening, which makes handling easier for the user with these materials.

HSM 8 TE
In terms of performance, economy and flexibility, our HSM 8 TE small baler on rollers is hard to beat. This is also due to its extremely simple operation: insert the strapping, switch it on and get started. And even tying and ejecting the bales can be done by anyone without any problems. The compact bales are ejected directly from the machine onto a pallet and can then be easily transported to the storage area.

HSM 12 Gigant
Wherever large-volume cardboard boxes or large quantities of plastic film or other materials are to be compressed, the HSM 12 Gigant is ideally suited. And if the baler is suddenly needed somewhere else in the company - no problem: thanks to its four swivel castors, it can be used flexibly at any time. HSM HL 1615
This all-purpose stationary press is designed for high loads and can compress not only paper waste, large cardboard boxes, plastic film and similar materials, but also sturdy paint buckets and light-weight metal drums (up to 200 l). To ensure that even extremely one-sided loads in the press channel do not pose a problem, the roller guide of the press plate is particularly large and sturdily dimensioned. Thanks to the two different-sized filling flaps, even voluminous pressed material can be reduced in volume quickly and easily without prior crushing. HSM HL 3521 T
The model HSM HL 3521 T can be fed e.g. via a conveyor belt and is specially designed for the pressing of tyres. Of course, all other packaging materials can also be pressed. Hydraulic filling flaps for maximum operating convenience and for pre-compaction.

HSM HL 3521 S
With its oversized feed opening, the HSM HL 3521 S is the ideal machine for compacting large quantities of paper, cardboard, film or packaging materials, where the material to be compacted is extremely large and bulky. HSM HL 4809
This very compact, horizontally operating counter plate compactor is suitable for larger disposal tasks in the retail trade and in small to medium-sized central warehouses. The HL 4809 ST produces bales with a cross-section of 1100 x 750 mm and a weight of up to 430 kg. HSM HL 4812
With its technical features, operating concept and design for bulky cardboard boxes, the HSM HL 4812 is the ideal machine for retail outlets and smaller central warehouses. The HSM HL 4812 can be fed manually or continuously via a conveyor belt. Maximum operating comfort and safety is also ensured during bale removal. HSM HL 7009
This very compact, horizontally operating counter-plate baler is suitable for larger disposal tasks in the retail trade and in small to medium-sized central warehouses. With a cross-section of 1100 x 1100 mm and a bale length of 1200 mm, the bales from an HSM HL 7009 weigh up to 600 kg and thus achieve optimum truck utilisation.
