Use of high-quality recycling knives pays off
02.05.2012
Industrial knives of CutMetall with stable cutting edge and high life
Bamberg/Felder, 2 May 2012. In order to meet the individual requirements of the operators during the recycling process, it is crucial to the quality of the industrial knives used. As a producer of process-optimised recycling knives and wear parts, the CutMetall GmbH relies on carefully selected raw materials and a modern production with trained personnel, exclusively "Made in Germany". This creates high-quality industrial knives with a stable cutting edge and long lifetimes – adapted to the specific requirements of the recycling companies.
For the operators of recycling plants, the service life of the knives and the consequential costs, on the one for knives and wear parts, and on the other for machine downtime and energy costs are essential.
High-quality knives offer many advantages
A well-selected and specific source material as well as optimized production and hardening processes create recycled knives that wear slower and cut longer. This significantly increases economic efficiency for companies, since fewer recycling knives and wear parts reduce the material and energy costs as well as the changeover times of the machines.
High-quality recycling knives with a more stable cutting edge can also be used in case of increased noise, as they only break out very partially and are therefore longer capable of cutting. Better cutting results lead to less input materials being clumped together and dischargeded early in the shredding process. This ensures a higher material throughput and significantly reduces the cost of material to be processed.
In addition, a good knife quality has a direct impact on the recycling machines. In this way, good cuts reduce the vibrations of the machines to a minimum, which reduces fatigue cracks and wear and consequently minimises the maintenance costs for the machines. The quality of the knives used also has a decisive influence on the required energy requirements and the dust development of the machines. Due to the use of high-quality components, the power requirement and the dust generation can be significantly reduced, since these are mainly caused by poorly cut or by squeezing defibated input material.
Increased safety thanks to better cutting results
Just bad knives cut out recycled material only with a lot of effort, which makes much more heat in the handling process. Strong heat development plasticized plastic-containing components and causes the machines to corrode more in unprotected areas. In the worst case, the large heat generation combined with the corresponding input material can cause machine fires.
Short distances and direct contact
Short delivery times and transport routes as well as direct contact to the manufacturer offer further advantages. In addition, all orders can also be realized in a timely manner.
